The Department of Labor (DOL) issued a release announcing that the Fair Labor Standards Act’s annual salary threshold will increase to the equivalent of an annual salary of $43,888 effective July 1, 2024. This threshold will increase to $58,656 on January 1, 2025. Beginning July 1, 2027, salary thresholds will update every three years.  Simply increasing the amount you pay to exempt employees is not enough to guarantee your compliance with this law.  As a matter of fact, the DOL estimates that 80% of employers are not compliant with some aspect of this law.
